Castione della Presolana is placed in Seriana Valley, almost 100 Km from Milan and 45 Km from Bergamo, inside the imposing frame of the Orobie Alps.

It has a wide territory (almost 42 Kmq), that goes from 780 m of altitude ( Gera mountain stream) to 1297 m (Passo della Presolana) and again to 2521 m (Pizzo della Presolana).

The village is composed by the hamlets Bratto, Dorga, Lantana and Rusio.

Thanks to its extremely interesting geografic position Castione della Presolana was already a touristic landmark in the twentieth Century, both in summer and winter.

It has also a great range of offers, according to different tastes and interests, a rich mountaineering tradition that is connected to the mountain "Presolana" and recently several climbing opportunities (such as "Valle dei Mulini" and "Corna Rossa")..

The typical mountain environmental features are combined with a dry and healthy climate. Moreover flora and fauna are wide-ranging and typical of the zone near the Alps.

There are important archaelogic evidences, with neo-eneolithic tombs, together with the valuable historic and artistic evidences in the churches and  the ancient rural architecture with its essential sobriety.
